Taunton residents and those coming to the town for the first time all enjoy a visit to the cheerful and welcoming surroundings of Mr Miles Tearoom, Coffee Shop and Cafe on the High Street.  To celebrate ten years successful trading in Taunton, Colin Barrell, the proprietor of Mr Miles recently organised an evening celebration for 150 guests which raised £1000 for the League of Friends Musgrove Park Hospital.  Guests included members of Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce and the League of Friends and also Mr Miles himself, the grandson of the original Mr Miles who started the tea business in 1888.

Quantock Brewery donated a luxury hamper of beer, wine and gin for the auction held during the evening and all profits from the bar were added to the total with the tearoom generously making the total up to £1000.

With fund raising being severely curtailed during the pandemic, this has given a huge boost to those involved with the League and sincere thanks go to Colin and all his staff at Mr Miles.  Seen here are Colin Barrell and Carol Waterman-Smith, receiving the cheque on behalf of the League of Friends.
