When the lockdown started, the volunteers who man the Shop in the Duchess Building on a rota basis, were unable to come into the hospital because of the restrictions in place.  As a result, keeping the Shop open and providing such an essential service to hospital staff fell on the four full and part-time members of staff – Jackie Booth, the Shop manager, Tina Foster, Sue Booth and Julia Forse.  These four have worked incredibly hard and have managed to keep the Shop open five days a week, including two weeks when Jackie herself was at home in isolation.  Because of social distancing, we can’t get a picture of the four of them together so here are Sue and Tina – over 4500 cups of coffee have now been given free of charge to the hard working hospital staff.  Unfortunately, the coffee machine has now decided to give up on dispensing hot milk and we can’t get an engineer in to fix it but the offers of free coffee and tea remain (with cold milk!).  So a big thank you to the four and photos of Julia and Jackie will appear in later posts.
